Screen-Shot-2015-10-15-at-4.37.54-AM-750x2001-300x80Pool’s  Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour will begin its 20th season on September 17 & 18 with its first ever “Joss Junior 9-Ball Championship”.

FORMAT UPDATE FROM MIKE ZUGLAN: Due to many inquiries and by popular demand, I have decided to modify the format of the 18 & under division of our Joss Junior 9-Ball Championship on Sept 17 & 18. The new format will be exactly like all of our Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour events. It will be races to 9, true double elimination and be played on the 9 foot Diamond tables. The 12 & under division will remain as previously stated, races to 4, 2 out of 3 sets played on the 7 foot Diamond tables. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me directly at 518-356-7163.

The event will take place at the beautiful Sharp Shooters Billiards & Sports Pub in Amsterdam NY –  At Sharp Shooters there is something for everyone. From a friendly game of Pool, Foosball, or Darts to meeting friends out for some food, drinks & to watch the game – Sharp Shooters has it! And now even Bocce Ball courts downstairs. A fun and friendly atmosphere for all ages! Tim & Julie Berlin have been most generous to our tour having 3 regular season events both at Sharp Shooters and Trick Shot Billiards & Sports Pub, and now donating the use of their room for our Junior event. Many thanks to them for their continued support of the game.

Many people and companies have generously donated cash (non will be paid to the participants), products and their time to help. I would like to acknowledge and thank them all. They are, in no particular order: Sharp Shooters Billiards & Sports Pub, Peter Hemendinger, Joss Cues, Dan Dishaw, James Sinclair (Rhythm Custom Cues), Baltimore City Cues, Don Kerns, Iwan Simonis, Aramith,, Billiards Press,, Heidrich Custom Cues, Mark Kulungian, Bruce Barthelette, Steve Lillis, Andrea Duvall, Jim Romanowski, John Babravich, Scorpion Cues, TAP league, Verizon & Driscoll Foods. And thank you to everyone else, who has been, or will be involved. Any top or Pro players are encouraged to drop by if you have the time and are in the neighborhood. I’m sure the kids would love to meet you!

The event will consist of 2 divisions that will run concurrently. There will be an 18 and under plus a 12 and under tournament. Entry fees are $25 per event. Doors will open at 10 am Saturday September 17 and final registration is at Noon. The format will be: race to 4 games, best 2 out of 3 sets. We will be using the 7 foot Diamond tables. Please keep in mind that due to attendance, some things could change. FYI, I have run hundreds of tournaments but this is my first ever Junior event. I am learning as I go so please bear with me. My ultimate goal is for all of the kids to have a great time!
