“Game rooms come in all shapes and sizes, so how does one create the perfect space? Here are a few tips as you get ready for hours of family fun:
Spec it out. Make sure you have the proper dimensions of your room before your start purchasing items. A billiards table, shuffleboard table, bar and couch may all sound great but you’re still going to need a place for everything. Use this handy cheat sheet to make sure there’s going to be room.- Pick your theme. Nothing pulls a room together like a common thread, be it a color or favorite sports team. Having accents throughout the room that connect make any room feel complete and well-thought-out, the Game Room should be treated the same way as a dining or living room. After all, you will be spending a lot of time in it.
- Know what you want. It can get overwhelming looking at game room Pinterest boards, when thoughts of “yes I want a baseball stadium seat in my house” and “two billiards tables are better than one!” start flashing through your head. Before you start looking for inspiration and planning, write down your top five wants for your new game room, post them where you’ll see them often. This will help you stay on track, and stay in budget.”
