| SPONSORING THE SPORT
Since Pool & Billiard Magazine's creation in 1983, it has been a leader in the promotion and sponsorship of national, regional and local events.
Beginning in the 1980s, Pool & Billiard Magazine initiated and held title sponsorship to the National 9-Ball Classic tournament, which became the model for the event portrayed in the 1986 movie, "The Color of Money" starring Paul Newman and Tom Cruise.
From 1993 through 2001, Pool & Billiard Magazine was an Annual Title Sponsor of the WPBA Classic Billiard Tour, became the first Billiard Media Sponsor of the WPBA Classic Tour in 1999. Individual player sponsorships have included such renowned players as Hall of Famer Robin Dodson (former two-time Women's World Champion), Roger Griffis (former PBTA Players Champion) and Vicki Paski (former Women's National Champion and WPBA Hall of Famer).
 Other sponsorships include the Billiard Education Foundation and annual BCA Junior National 9-Ball Championships, the Viking Tour, the United Pool Players Association (UPA), along with dozens of regional and local tour and charity events.
